"New Year, New You" Community Campaign by ThrillSeeker 5K Stunt Run Gives Recognition in Effort to Improve Lives
Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) January 02, 2015 -- While many across the country mull over their New Year's resolutions, the first of its kind ThrillSeeker 5K Stunt Run, presented by Guardian Angel Council, is offering an alternative to the standard gym membership and healthy cookbooks with a campaign to recognize people making strides to improve themselves and their community.
Launching as the 2015 Stun Run series begins for three markets (San Antonio, Phoenix and Salt Lake City), the search is on to find a member of the ThrillSeeker community who makes extra effort to do something unique to live a better life or help others to do so. Each month, contestants will send in a short summary of the way they are providing a unique twist on self improvement or improving others' lives.
Fans of the ThrillSeeker Stunt Run will vote for their favorite story, and the lucky winner will be featured in a blog post sharing their efforts along with a free entry to the Stunt Run in their home town.
Del Andrus, ThrillSeeker Stunt Run founder, said, "The ThrillSeeker 5K Stunt Run is igniting courage in the individual to better themselves, their community, and save lives affected by cancer. By encouraging our ThrillSeekers to step up to the challenge of living a healthy life, they can, in turn, inspire others to do the same.”
The Stunt Run itself provides a unique self and community improvement opportunity and takes courage to complete. Featuring heart-pounding, high-flying stunts designed by Hollywood stunt producers, participants will launch, zip, slide and dash out of their comfort zone, all for a good cause... a portion of funds raised will go to Be The Match, and thousands of ThrillSeekers will have the chance to join the Be The Match Registry® on-site.

About Guardian Angel Council
Guardian Angel Council (GAC) is a 501(c)(3) that exists to create awareness for the National Bone Marrow Donor Program, specifically through the Be The Match® Registry. There is an ever-growing need for marrow donors, as there is a 1-in-4 chance of having a sibling be a match, and about 70% of patients in need of a transplant do not have a suitable donor in their family. GAC pays special attention to increasing minority participation in the registry - minorities make up only 30% of potential donors, and patients are more likely to find that life-saving match from donors of their own ethnic background. For more information, please visit http://www.gacouncil.org.
About Be The Match®
For people with life-threatening blood cancers—like leukemia and lymphoma—or other diseases, a cure exists. Be The Match® connects patients with their donor match for a life-saving marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. People can contribute to the cure as a member of the Be The Match Registry®, financial contributor or volunteer. Be The Match® provides patients and their families one-on-one support, education, and guidance before, during and after transplant.
Be The Match® is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP), a nonprofit organization that matches patients with donors, educates health care professionals and conducts research so more lives can be saved. To learn more about the cure, visit http://www.BeTheMatch.org or call 1 (800) MARROW-2.
