Cosmetic Physician Dr. Marina Buckley Announces Seminar on Vaginal Tightening & Explains Why it is in Vogue: Women Want No Sagging in the Sack

Women are not only talking about wanting to make their vaginas look and feel better, they’re doing something about it. All the chatter is about ThermiVa, a radiofrequency device that tightens vaginal tissue and improves some women’s sex lives.

Women are making it clear that they want vaginal rejuvenation options. Leading the charge, celebrities like Kim Kardashian are talking about vaginal rejuvenation—specifically, a nonsurgical radiofrequency technology called ThermiVa.

A woman’s body changes post-childbirth and over time. It’s common for women to openly address their changing necklines, jawlines or sagging breasts, but, until now, they’ve been hesitant to openly talk about changes in the look and feel of their vaginal areas. But ThermiVa is helping in getting the conversation started.

“It has gone from hush-hush to in vogue to pay as much attention to the parts that we don’t generally see as it is to the parts we see. Women are making it clear that they want vaginal rejuvenation options. Leading the charge, celebrities like Kim Kardashian are talking about vaginal rejuvenation—specifically, a nonsurgical radiofrequency technology called ThermiVa,” says cosmetic surgeon Dr. Marina Buckley. Dr. Buckley is President of Pocono Medical Care, Inc., which offers cosmetic services as MilfordMD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center in Milford, Penn.

One of the reasons for the growing demand is the options now include nonsurgical, outpatient, no-downtime possibilities. Radiofrequency technology has helped to make that a reality, according to Dr. Buckley. Radiofrequency energy penetrates deep into the skin’s tissue, heating the treatment area and, ultimately, stimulating collagen production. “We can achieve tissue tightening, collagen production and more without making a single incision. It’s all done by radiofrequency technology applied from outside the skin,” Dr. Marina Buckley says.

And when it comes to vaginal tissue tightening and rejuvenation, it’s not only the look but also the way women feel in bed that matters, according to Dr. Buckley. “The women that come to my office looking for options in vaginal rejuvenation are concerned about vaginal looseness and labial sagging,” Dr. Buckley says. “These are more than cosmetic issues. Vaginal looseness, for example, can cause a lack of sensation or friction, as well as embarrassing air pockets and perspiration in the area.”

Women, she says, are also concerned with mild to moderate incontinence, dryness and orgasmic issues that often come around the time of menopause. These can undermine a woman’s confidence in bed, she says. Amazingly, radiofrequency technology with the ThermiVa addresses the issues without discomfort or downtime and this is why it is a trending procedure everyone is suddenly talking about.

In a session of about 20 to 25 minutes, Dr. Buckley delivers nonsurgical radiofrequency deeply into the vaginal tissues by applying a small applicator to the outside and inside the vagina. Patients usually receive three treatments, a month apart. But with each treatment, women often notice their skin is tighter.

Many also report the mild to moderate urinary leakage they experienced before the procedure is improved or gone. And the dryness, called atrophic vulvovaginitis, is eased by the new increased lubrication to the area. These results can be immediate or come over the weeks following the procedure. And early indications are that results last for up to a year and longer.

“There’s more that happens as a result of radiofrequency vaginal tightening. Women have reported that their orgasms are better and are even more frequent after treatment,” Dr. Buckley says. “What this does for a woman’s self-confidence and quality of life is immeasurable.”

MilfordMD Cosmetic Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center has long offered skin tightening procedures for the body, including the popular Thermage. In July 2016, MilfordMD added ThermiVa to its menu of services.
