The Advocator Group, LLC Donates Bedding and Financial Support to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Initiative: A Bed for Every Child
Wakefield, MA (PRWEB) January 04, 2016 -- The Advocator Group, LLC is pleased to extend its passion for service to various families throughout Massachusetts by donating sheets, blankets, pillows, and funds —all of which will be provided to children in low-income families through the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ initiative, A Bed for Every Child.
In 2011, advocates from the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless learned that many students in local public schools were not getting a good night’s sleep because they did not have their own bed to sleep in at home. This led to the formation of A Bed for Every Child’s work providing beds and bed linens to these children. The Advocator Group is thrilled to support these efforts to help children succeed; The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless notes that a good night’s sleep has a major effect on a child’s ability to come to school prepared to learn, and falling behind in school due to a lack of sleep can have negative long-term consequences on a student’s education and future.
For every $250 raised, A Bed for Every Child is able to provide one child with a complete new bed, including a twin mattress, box spring, bed frame and linens. New beds have been provided to over 2,200 children (and counting) across Massachusetts, and The Advocator Group is proud to help increase that number and provide more children with a chance to achieve academic success.
The Social Security disability advocacy firm based in Wakefield, Massachusetts, set a goal of raising enough money to donate bedding for 10 beds; this goal was exceeded and funds were also donated to be used towards a new bed for an additional child.

Jennifer Paulino, Donations Coordinator for The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, explains the need for awareness and support of American families facing homelessness. Paulino states that “sadly, for most people the image of a young child never comes to mind when they think of a homeless person—yet over 23,000 children in Massachusetts are without a place to call home and are now the new face of homelessness in our state. We work each day to ensure that families have the support they need to navigate their way out of homelessness, and we would like to thank The Advocator Group for their donations. This type of support allows us to assist families and individuals who are transitioning out of homelessness into their own home.”
Paulino also stated that in Massachusetts alone, the number of homeless children has increased by a staggering 110% over the past 15 years.
