New Tool Helping Georgia Manufacturing Professionals Stay Up-To-Date on Events Impacting Their Industry Provided by Georgia Manufacturing Alliance
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) December 31, 2015 -- Powerful new tools have just been released to help busy professionals in the manufacturing community quickly locate and register for training sessions, manufacturing plant tours, networking events and trade shows in Georgia.
In 2013, a luncheon was hosted by a visionary group of board members from APICS Atlanta and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). This gathering was a collection of leaders from various industry associations who support the manufacturing community of Georgia. The luncheon provided these leaders a unique opportunity to share best practices and plans for the future for their respective organizations. Working together to share their successes and failures they all carried valuable lessons back to benefit their members.
One topic that was discussed was cross promotion of each other’s events. Jason Moss, CEO of the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance, connected with the leaders of both APICS and SME to partner in event promotion and he took it a step further by getting all three groups to offer reduced member only pricing to the current members of the other two organizations. "This reciprocal event pricing immediately grew in popularity with the collective membership base – ultimately increasing registrations for all three associations." said Moss. Going a step further, Moss stated "Annual membership for these organizations increased just from bringing awareness of the other associations."
A very popular topic was the desire to have a common shared calendar. One key benefit would be that each association could use this information when scheduling events in hopes to reduce having multiple events on the same day and time. Moss took this challenge on and has developed what is now the single resource for all things manufacturing in Georgia. The Georgia Manufacturing Calendar (GMC) allows event hosts to publish and manage their events on a shared calendar with links to their respective registration pages. Each association maintains their current registration process with no change, GMC is a tool to help grow awareness and direct traffic to events.
GMC has been designed to deliver customized email alerts to users based on selection categories they have identified and on a delivery frequency they specify. For example, if a user would like to be notified of upcoming manufacturing plant tours and networking events on a weekly basis, they can set up their simple individualized profile and the system does all of the work collecting the details and providing the requested information to the user by email once per week. The GMC ensures that visitors no longer need to search through multiple web sites nor dig through countless calendars and event listings to find tradeshows, training events and manufacturing plant tours.
