PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) January 06, 2016
Philadelphia labor, employment and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that partner Stuart W. Davidson has been appointed to chair the Professionals Committee of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans effective Jan. 1, 2016.
The International Foundation is an educational organization dedicated to providing the diverse employee benefits community with objective, solution-oriented education, research and information. Davidson has been selected to chair the Professionals Committee for a one-year term.
“As the largest and most active employee benefit plan organization in the nation, the Foundation is a vital source of information and support for all of us who protect the rights of working men and women,” Davidson said. “I am honored to continue to serve the Foundation and its members and make those valuable resources available to all trustees and benefits professionals, so they can better advocate for their clients.”
Over the course of his career, Davidson has represented a wide range of union workers, including musicians, longshoremen, machinists, steelworkers, firefighters, police officers, food and commercial workers, NFL players, Teamsters, and university professors. His work for both public and private-sector unions includes leading contract negotiations, presenting interest and grievance arbitrations, representing employee benefit funds and advising clients on internal union matters. He also has played key roles in the development of progressive new benefit structures with the pension and health and welfare plans he represents.
For nearly 20 years, Davidson’s peers consistently have selected him for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Labor and Employment Law. He also has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters every year since 2004. Davidson has served as a Commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority and Chair of the Board of Law Examiners, and is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
