Galdos Systems Inc. announced that it will be participating in the upcoming Major Interoperability Testbed 12 from the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

One of the objectives of Testbed 12 is to advance registry services within the aviation domain, and we anticipate that our INdicio™ Registry product will make a significant contribution

“One of the objectives of Testbed 12 is to advance registry services within the aviation domain, and we anticipate that our INdicio™ Registry product will make a significant contribution,” states Rob Sterpin, Vice President Global Sales & Marketing at Galdos. Galdos has participated in each of the previous OGC Testbeds since 1999. These initiatives are experimental, and are intended to advance open standards specifications and related technologies, including modifying existing specifications and creating new ones.

Within Testbed 12, Galdos will be focusing on providing a spatially-aware registry service based on the OGC CSW-ebRIM profile. The registry component (INdicio) will interwork with the NAS Service Registry/Repository (NSRR v2), which is under development by the FAA, to provide a single service endpoint for discovering many kinds of information resources.

Some key aspects of the solution include:

  •     providing a standards-based registry based on the OGC CSW-ebRIM profile
  •     automatically harvesting service-related metadata from upstream SWIM domain registries
  •     realizing the Service Description Conceptual Model (SDCM) using the built-in extension mechanism
  •     sending notifications when registry objects of interest are changed (created, updated, deleted)
  •     facilitating cost-effective governance of registered items (automatic update via periodic harvest, customizable lifecycle management, etc.)
