GoNoodle is one of eight products honored for excellence and innovation in kids digital media and technology among a record number of nominees.

GoNoodle, the leading provider of online movement videos and games that gets kids moving, today received a 2016 Kids at Play Interactive (KAPi) Award for Best Product for Schools. The KAPi Award was presented to GoNoodle at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). GoNoodle was one of eight products and two individuals recognized for excellence and innovation in kids digital media and technology. Other 2016 KAPi Award winners include YouTube Kids by Google and the View-Master App by Mattel.

GoNoodle, launched in August 2013, has doubled its engaged audience over the past year, with 10 million kids now moving more with GoNoodle each month. GoNoodle’s three-to-five minute online movement videos get kids moving, applying research that connects physical activity to improved health and learning. On GoNoodle kids can run with an Olympian, have a dance party with Zumba Kids, get active and silly with Koo Koo Kanga Roo, or take a moment to reflect with Flow. Teachers use GoNoodle to transition between subjects, to energize and focus their classrooms and in some cases to incorporate lessons on math, language arts and science. Currently GoNoodle is used in 75% of U.S. public elementary schools and by 500,000 teachers across the globe.

Kids and parents are also increasingly using GoNoodle at home. To date, nearly 1 million families have signed up so they can turn screen time into active time. In December 2015, GoNoodle launched an app for the new AppleTV to make it easier for families to run, jump, stretch and dance in their living rooms.

“The KAPi Award is wonderful recognition of GoNoodle's work to get kids moving at school and at home,” said Scott McQuigg, chief executive officer and co-founder of GoNoodle. “Teachers around the world tell us GoNoodle is transforming their classrooms through movement. And parents say that GoNoodle is a fun and easy way for families to be active together. At GoNoodle, we are passionate about finding innovative ways to help kids channel their energy for good.”

The annual KAPi Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in children’s interactive media and are chosen by a panel of 14 judges who are experts in education, media, design, storytelling and technology. Award winners in previous years include Lumosity for their Lumikids App, Leapfrog for their LeapTV game console and Harmonix for their Disney Fantasia Music: Evolved motion-controlled music rhythm game.
