NutriSavings, a benefit program that rewards employees and their families for shopping healthy, teamed up with FreshDirect to help shoppers take advantage of the grocery delivery service. FreshDirect is one of over 70 grocery retailers to join NutriSavings in helping people save money and shop nutritiously for a healthier lifestyle.

Leading nutrition benefit program NutriSavings today announced their partnership with online fresh food grocer FreshDirect to create financial incentives for NutriSavings members who purchase better-for-you foods including produce, lean protein and whole grains on FreshDirect.com.

NutriSavings is a digital platform and mobile app that enables employees and their families to advance their nutritional awareness and receive exclusive cash back rewards when they purchase healthy items. The program uses a sophisticated scoring system to identify better-for-you foods and motivate shoppers to boost their healthy shopping behaviors. FreshDirect is the first online grocer to partner with NutriSavings connecting consumers who use both services for rewards and discounts based on their shopping behavior.

“We’re excited to work with NutriSavings,” said Chris Woodard, Senior Director of Retention and Loyalty, FreshDirect. “We know consumers want fresh, whole, nutritious foods without the hassle of going to the supermarket. The partnership with NutriSavings helps them get one step closer to putting a healthy, delicious meal on the table while rewarding them in the process.”

“Working with FreshDirect is a perfect example of how companies can promote healthier lifestyles together and explore cutting edge ways to benefit the health status of America,” said Jeremy Doak, NutriSavings Vice President. “It speaks to a larger trend of grocery stores working with outside tech-driven organizations to educate their shoppers when it comes to making smart choices in the aisle, or in FreshDirect’s case, online.”

FreshDirect currently serves five states in the Northeast including greater New York City and Philadelphia metro areas. The NutriSavings program is available to eligible participants who can sign up for wellness benefits through their employer or health plan provider.
