The Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE 16) is an attestation standard established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to report on the controls and services provided to customers. Organizations undergoing this audit must present a written document from management showcasing the development or data center’s system design, controls and operational effectiveness. The AICPA then reviews this statement along with the evaluation from the accredited third party when determining if the organization is compliant.
