McCoy’s Building Supply Gives Back to Community
San Marcos, Texas (PRWEB) January 10, 2016 -- This past holiday season, McCoy’s Building Supply locations in Georgetown and Taylor partnered with BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. to sell Christmas trees to benefit local and international non-profit organizations. In addition, McCoy’s donated 224 trees to area families who may not have been able to afford one of their own.
“Selling Christmas trees where all proceeds are given to non-profits was very rewarding,” says Carlos Garcia, Georgetown Store Manager. “And we were so excited to donate beautiful trees to some deserving families right here in Central Texas…it’s what Christmas is all about.”
The challenges of erecting and manning a seasonal Christmas Tree Lot at these two retail locations was a group effort, and McCoy’s store and headquarters personnel worked alongside Loves Gives First, a trusted group of business, community and civic leaders who are committed to strengthening relationships.
By selling Christmas trees where all proceeds were given to community non-profits and a vetted international organization, McCoy’s was able to reach a larger community than ever before. “We appreciate our customers’ enthusiastic support and the opportunity for our Taylor and Georgetown store teams to be directly involved in supporting these important causes,” adds Nicole Brosh, Taylor Store Manager.
Trees and proceeds were donated to three area organizations. Celebration of Love helps military families in need at Ft. Hood and throughout Central Texas, Serve Taylor After School inspires students to learn, grow and thrive, and The Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center provides a safe environment for children to report abuse. Proceeds were also given internationally to The Jerusalem School Bethlehem, a K-12 grade school serving Christian and Muslim children in the Bethlehem, West Bank area.
