The online version of the Training Needs Analysis covers hundreds of core knowledge areas for industrial positions.

“Identifying the core knowledge areas of an industrial maintenance staff is essential when starting a successful training program,” said Ki Choi, VP Training Solutions.

TPC Training Systems’ Training Needs Analysis (TNA) exposes skills gaps in industrial workforces by identifying the core knowledge areas for specific maintenance roles and aligning training priorities with TPC’s curriculum. The analysis tool, previously delivered in booklet form, has been recently redesigned to a free, online format that streamlines the TNA process and provides faster response turnaround to clients.

“Identifying the core knowledge areas of an industrial maintenance staff is essential when starting a successful training program,” said Ki Choi, VP Training Solutions. “The TPC Training Needs Analysis process helps organizations take their fist step toward a safer and better trained workforce by identifying where training should be focused to achieve the goals of the organization.”

The online version of the Training Needs Analysis covers hundreds of core knowledge areas for industrial positions. The survey includes various sections that list out major task per skill set. Instructors or supervisors are then asked to rate each task by importance and frequency of occurrence. Once the TNA is completed, data is electronically submitted for analysis by a TPC Training Solutions Consultant.

The Training Needs Analysis achieves the following for each job role:

  •     Helps identify the job role.
  •     Identifies a preset course listing based on job title.
  •     Identifies the importance and frequency of topics for each category in each work environment.
  •     Refines the training plan’s results with specific facility requirements.
  •     Delivers a report from a TPC Training Solutions Consultant.

As part of the TNA process, TPC analyzes the results of the survey and delivers a detailed report of the identified core knowledge priorities. The TNA process then selects specific TPC Technical Skills courses that address those knowledge priorities. This process enables organizations to have the essential core knowledge training component of their training program up and running in a short period of time.
