America is Still the Place to Premiere at IndieLounge During the Sundance Film Festival
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- In the early 1970's, Charlie Walker a Korean war veteran approached life with a sheer optimistic view of the world. That anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and dedicate themselves to hard work and long unappreciative hours could succeed, but racial prejudices, corporate imposters, and catastrophe, African-American businessman Charlie Walker carried a torch, shining the light in dark corners of the murky tide of San Francisco Bay. “America is Still the Place," the compelling story of one man’s success built from the ground up with all the blood, sweat, and tears of an episodic Hollywood masterpiece.
Premiering on January 24th at the 2016 IndieLounge during the Sundance Film Festival “America is Still the Place” Stars Mike Colter of Marvel’s Luke Cage and Dylan Baker of the Spiderman franchise. “We couldn’t have dreamed of a better lead actor than Mike (Colter).” Director/Producer Patrick Gilles said. “His portrayal of the character is a near perfect replica of the real Charlie Walker.”
San Francisco businessman and Executive Producer Bill O’Keeffe enlisted the talents of an incredible Producer, Cast, and Crew, proving once again independent filmmakers can produce exceptional films with a minimal budget. “This film is one of many we are producing.” O’Keeffe Said. “I am excited to show the filmmakers at Sundance what we have to offer.”
Following the Premier, Bill O’Keeffe, Patrick Gilles, and Charlie Walker himself will be on hand for an exclusive in-depth look at the film, its subject, and how “America is Still the Place.”
