Coupon Mom Stephanie Nelson Demonstrates New Savings Apps That Make Grocery Shopping Profitable
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 14, 2016 -- Strategic Shopping is the art of getting more for less every week at the grocery store by combining sales, promotions and coupons. The key is being able to save easily, without having to spend hours planning lists and clipping coupons. Stephanie Nelson, “The Coupon Mom,” has easy tips and shortcuts for every major store to help shoppers save where they prefer to shop.
“Save easily with store savings apps without having to take the time to clip coupons and plan detailed shopping lists, ” says Nelson.
Saving is easier today because every store has adopted some type of digital coupon and smartphone app that let shoppers click coupons and deals while shopping. These are some of the simplest and best high-tech savings strategies by store:
Walmart: Download the Walmart app and go to the Savings Catcher section. After shopping at Walmart, scan the receipt barcode with the app. The app will scan competitors’ websites for your items’ prices, and if any lower prices are found, the difference in price will be added to the Savings Catcher account to redeem in the form of a Walmart gift card.
Most grocery store websites have free apps shoppers can download with sales information, digital coupons and promotions. As an example, this is how the Kroger and Publix apps work:
Kroger: Download the Kroger app to register a Kroger card. Select digital grocery coupons from the app. The coupon value will be deducted automatically at the register when purchasing the product. Take advantage of regular promotions that give cash off at the register with the purchase of a minimum number of participating items. In many cases, digital coupons will be available for those items from the app.
Publix: Download the Publix app and register a phone number. Select digital grocery coupons from the app which will be deducted automatically at the register after entering the registered phone number. Take advantage of Publix’s many “buy one, get one free” promotions and look for digital coupons that match sale items. Select coupons easily while shopping.
Target: Download the Cartwheel app or go to Target.com and use the Cartwheel app from the store website. Select offers for savings off hundreds of items across all departments, and either print the Cartwheel list with its barcode for the cashier to scan at the register, or use the barcode on the app from a phone. The savings will come off automatically.
CVS: Download the CVS app to get store coupons, digital manufacturers’ coupons and store Extrabucks rewards generated at the register to eliminate having to remember paper coupons on a future visit. Scan a CVS card at the red coupon kiosk before shopping to get additional coupons.
Cashback Apps: Other grocery savings apps that work at multiple stores include Checkout 51, Ibotta and Savingstar. Cashback savings is in addition to savings from store sales, promotions and coupons.
Select offers from the app, then upload the receipt by taking its picture. Accounts will be credited for the offer value and members can cash out at a minimum earnings level, which varies by app.
