Dry Patrol of Central Ohio Clears Mold from New Home During Home for Heroes Project
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) January 19, 2016 -- [Delaware Ohio flood damage cleanup company, Dry Patrol of Central Ohio recently volunteered efforts to remove mold from a new home built through an Adaptive Homes, Homes for Heroes project in Sunbury, Ohio. The home, built for wounded warrior, Mike and his family, developed mold due to the fluctuating weather that occurred as the house went up. Dry Patrol of Central Ohio was volunteering on the project and quickly identified how the issue occurred within a small area in the basement. The Columbus mold remediators provided free professional services in addition to the their volunteer efforts to clear the toxic substance and prevent future mold from developing in Mike’s new home.
Dry Patrol of Central Ohio President Bryan Daughtry comments, “Unfortunately, even newly constructed homes are susceptible to the development of toxic molds, particularly when rain has passed through, and in this case, Ohio winter weather plays a role.”
Daughtry, the owner of the Delaware Ohio mold cleanup company, continues, “We’re just glad we were already part of the project, were able to catch it early on, and knew how to deal with it. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and we are so proud to be a part of honoring and helping our local hero, Mike, his wife Kelsey, and their newborn, Luke. He is someone who has sacrificed so much for us. This was a great opportunity to give back in a meaningful way.”
The Columbus mold remediators warn new homeowners that new homes are, in fact, at high risk for mold if the house was constructed during a period of rainfall or snow. Precipitation can become trapped in porous materials such as drywall or wood. Once the home is heated, mold can begin to develop as early as 24 to 48 hours.
