Sunset Selects the Bay Area’s Berkeley Hills as the Location for the 2016 Idea House
OAKLAND, CA (PRWEB) January 19, 2016 -- Sunset, the leading lifestyle brand in the West, announced today that it has selected the Berkeley Hills neighborhood of Berkeley, CA as the location for its 2016 Idea House. Working with builder Landmark Development Corporation, the house will be designed by Berkeley-based architect, Robert Nebolon Architects, who was named 2015's "HGTV Fresh Face of Design." Geremia Design, whose principal, Lauren Geremia, has been recognized by Forbes “30 Under 30” and as Architectural Digest’s “Ones to Watch,” will work closely with Sunset’s home editors to bring the home’s interiors to life. This expert design and construction team will create the ultimate California hills residence that embodies the indoor-outdoor lifestyle that Sunset is best known for. With five decks overlooking the San Francisco Bay, the 4,000 square-foot four-bedroom, four-bathroom home exemplifies the sophisticated and relaxed lifestyle of the Bay Area’s East Bay, one of the most sought-after places to live in the country.
The 2016 Idea House, which will be featured in the November 2016 issue of Sunset magazine, will open to the public for six weeks August 5-September 11. The home is located at 540 Gravatt Dr. in the hills’ Claremont enclave of Berkeley.
Since 1998, Sunset has built Idea Houses and Dream Remodels throughout the West that bring the brand to life and showcase the latest innovations in architecture, construction, design, and sustainable building and gardening practices.
“Building in the Berkeley Hills feels like just the right way to put down roots in this vibrant and diverse region,” said Sunset Editor-in-Chief Irene Edwards. “It’s only a few minutes drive from the urban hustle and bustle of our Jack London Square headquarters to the Idea House’s stunning hillside location, but the experiences are so different. The area is a microcosm of what we love most about living in the West.”
Sponsors of the Sunset Idea Houses include AZEK Building Products, InSinkErator, James Hardie, Lamps Plus, Maui Jim, Torani and Western Window Systems.
