“By a wide margin people want love and to be loved. Once again we affirm that love is something that unites us and makes us happy.” - Cupid.com survey results

Just before the holiday break, Cupid.com announced a Dream-Come-True contest, promising to fulfill the wishes during 2016 for twelve lucky winners. Contestants perused the website for golden tickets and shared their wants and dreams with Cupid.com. 414 members found golden tickets, with the dozen winners to be announced 20th January 2016 online.

Results of the contest revealed, by a wide margin, a universal need for love. Regardless of age, gender, social status, etc, people shared their need for relationships and a sense of belonging. After finding a soulmate to live happily ever after, the contest revealed a universal wish for travel and financial security.

Love Tops The List
43% of respondents wanted romantic relationships, companionship and lifelong love. According to Cupid.com’s spokesperson Anastasia Yarkova, “By a wide margin people want love and to be loved. Once again we affirm that love is something that unites us and makes us happy.”

Opportunity To Travel
18% of participants requested the opportunity to travel or to have vacation time off from work to go on holiday somewhere. “Contestants want to experience how others live, visit exotic places, try something new, meet someone new,” says Yarkova. “People everywhere are romantic adventurers. That's inspiring.”

Financial Security and Ownership of Goods
9% of respondents said that their dream was to succeed in business or to get a better job. The same percentage (9%) wanted to receive money or some property. 6% mentioned the ability to pay down debt. "A common theme was to be debt free and have an opportunity to move forward with life, to start fresh,” says Yarkova.

Healthy Thoughts
9% of participants said that their wish is to help some specific people who suffered from diseases or needed relief from a tough period of life. “Being able to ask for anything, lot of people used such a chance to help others. This is wonderful and deserving or our respect and attention,” says Yarkova. 4% of contestants overall mentioned that all they needed was to be happy and healthy.

“The Dream-Come-True contest showed that more than anything else people wanted to love and to be loved,” says Yarkova. “Yet more proof that we at Cupid.com do the right thing by giving people a chance to find soulmates and be happy.”
