Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) January 19, 2016 -- Continuing to meet the needs of professional and at-home caregivers around the world, Pines of Sarasota Education and Training Institute will offer its new workshop "Meeting the Spiritual & Emotional Needs of Care Partners & People with Dementia" on February 18, 2016, with internationally renowned dementia care specialist Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, and Certified Master Coach Linn Possell.
During this 9am to 4pm workshop, attendees will learn about basic spiritual needs throughout life, what may or may not change when someone is living with dementia and how to meet those needs.
Co-Presenter Rev. Linn Possell explains: “Participants will discuss challenges that the person living with dementia, family and community of faith are faced with, as well as strategies and resources that can assist with these challenges.”
“Spirituality, no matter in which form, is and remains an essential part of many people’s lives. And even when dementia is involved, spirituality continues to be important,” JoAnn Westbrook, Director of Education, explains. “There are ways to help a person living with dementia and their families stay connected to their communities of faith, and there is no better team than Teepa Snow and Rev. Linn Possell to present practical tips & techniques on this important matter. Teepa is unrivaled in her ability to reconnect caregivers and patients, and we’re excited to present this program to the Sarasota and Manatee communities.”
