We are proud and excited to announce our partnership with Japan Kicking Academy. I have known Yoshi for several years and he is an excellent kicker and coach." Michael Husted.

National Camp Series (NCS) is partnering with the Japan Kicking Academy according to retired NFL kicker Michael Husted, founder of NCS, and Yoshi Sakurai and Taka Maruta of Japan Kicking Academy.
"We are proud and excited to announce our partnership with Japan Kicking Academy,” says Husted. “I have known Yoshi for several years and he is an excellent kicker and coach. I have personally coached him, and he has also had the opportunity to kick with NFL kickers Nick Novak, Jason Myers and Billy Cundiff."
Husted says he is excited to bring the National Camp Series (NCS) training to Japan as it will provide young kickers there an opportunity to measure themselves against the best young kickers in the United States.
"There are over 100 high schools in Japan that play American Football,” says Husted. “Many have very talented kickers who want to bring their game to the United States. By utilizing our Kicking Index, the specialists in Japan will be able to see how they stack up against kickers in the US."
Husted says the NCS Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System provides an objective evaluation platform for student-athletes who want to showcase their capabilities to colleges and universities for recruiting purposes. By sorting through over 10 years of historical event data, the KIX system determines a kicker’s rankings by cross-referencing player data to determine how the athletes stack up against others, both presently and historically.
He says the KIX Player Rating System is the perfect tool to help young kickers in Japan measure their abilities for self-improvement and for competition. Yoshi Sakurai of Japan Kicking Academy agrees.
"We are excited to join the NCS as this is big step for American football in Japan,” says Sakurai.
“When I started playing in the US, I didn't have enough knowledge and connections,” he says. “This partnership will give our players the opportunity to learn kicking, measure themselves against U.S. kickers and connect with U.S. universities and professional teams. I'm looking forward to seeing Japanese players at NCAA D-1 level and the pros in the future."
Husted agrees with Sakurai adding, “Together we can help change the way young kicking specialists in Japan pursue their kicking career.”
