JDRF Desert Southwest Chapter Partners with Bashas’ Grocery Stores to Raise Research Funding
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 20, 2016 -- JDRF is partnering with Bashas’ Grocery Stores and Food City through the month of January in the effort to raise funds for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Until January 31st, shoppers who donate any dollar amount at the register will receive a paper sneaker icon to fill out with their name and be displayed at Bashas’ and Food City Stores across Arizona. As always, 100% of the donations go directly to JDRF.
The month-long campaign will raise funds for type 1 diabetes research, an autoimmune disease which inhibits the pancreas’ ability to create insulin, a hormone necessary for converting food into energy. Currently, the disease affects over 1.25 million children and adults and remains incurable. JDRF’s mission is to accelerate breakthroughs to treat and eventually cure T1D and their efforts have made them the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
