Vistronix Awarded $30 Million Five-Year Data Analytics Contract with the National Toxicology Program
Reston, VA (PRWEB) February 05, 2016 -- Vistronix Intelligence & Technology Solutions, a software developer and solutions innovator solving complex data challenges, is pleased to announce that the company was recently awarded a $30 million five-year contract to provide Data Analytics and IT support services to the National Toxicology Program (NTP) at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. NTP is an interagency program whose mission is to evaluate agents of public health concern by developing and applying analytical tools of modern toxicology and molecular biology. NTP was created as a cooperative effort to: (1) Coordinate toxicology testing programs within the federal government; (2) Strengthen the science base in toxicology; (3) Develop and validate improved testing methods; and (4) Provide information about potentially toxic chemicals to health, regulatory, and research agencies, scientific and medical communities, and the public. NTP arose because of increasing scientific, regulatory, and Congressional concerns about the human health effects of chemical agents in our environment.
The objective of this health IT contract is to leverage advanced technologies for toxicology data collection and ingest, data integration, and data visualization in support of decision making. Vistronix personnel assigned to this contract are highly cross-qualified in the scientific, technical and software disciplines critical to the success of the public health mission, yielding a uniquely multi-disciplinary team responsible for ensuring that critical information is available in an accurate, effective and biologically meaningful context. The main overarching mission of the program is to understand how the environment influences the development and progression of human disease in order to ultimately reduce the burden of human illness and disability.
“This award demonstrates our continued commitment and support to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and its critical mission, and I am confident that we will build on this contract and further expand our footprint across the entire Health IT Community,” said John Hassoun, President and CEO, Vistronix.
