WYES-TV Broadcasts Nationwide the Conclusion of Mardi Gras at Meeting of the Courts between Krewe of Rex and Comus
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) January 21, 2016 -- WYES-TV/Channel 12 presents one of the highlights of the Carnival season - The 2016 Krewe of Rex Ball and the Meeting of the Courts of Rex and Comus. Hosts Peggy Scott Laborde and Errol Laborde, along with Dr. Stephen Hales, a Rex Organization official and krewe archivist, provide coverage of the ball on Tuesday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. live from the Sheraton and Marriott hotels in downtown New Orleans. The broadcast will repeat immediately following the initial airing.

During the three and a half hour broadcast, viewers will enjoy watching the pageantry of the Mardi Gras balls and the historic meeting of the courts, which has taken place since 1882. The program will feature a brief history of Carnival 50 and 100 years ago, a video feature concerning World War One hero General John Pershing, who visited New Orleans during Mardi Gras in 1920, and an interview with the 2016 Queen of Comus. Also included will be a feature segment on the 2016 Queen and King of Carnival. Interviews from Carnival royalty past and present will also be part of the broadcast.
