K-12 schools can test cloud-based Windows or Chrome OS products for free, with no obligation to purchase

Acer's new TravelMate B117 cloud-based Windows notebook is one of the products offered to K-12 schools in the Acer Education Seed Program starting today.

“The new Acer Education Seed Program lets schools that are interested in utilizing cloud-based solutions try out Acer products with no obligation to purchase," said Richard Black, vice president, marketing communications, Acer America.

Acer today announced the launch of its new Acer Education Seed Program, which offers K-12 schools across the United States an opportunity to test either a cloud-based Acer TravelMate B117 notebook with Windows or an Acer C730E Chromebook with Chrome OS for free, with no risk, since there is no obligation to purchase.

This offer enables schools to explore the advantages of cloud based solutions – either Windows or Chrome – using award-winning Acer products designed specifically for education and determine which solution is the best fit for their school.(1)

“Education has changed rapidly over the last decade, as schools have been working diligently to integrate technology across their curriculum, into their classrooms, and throughout administration to improve the education of students,” said Richard Black, vice president, marketing communications, Acer America. “The new Acer Education Seed Program lets schools that are interested in utilizing cloud-based solutions, regardless of the existing operating system currently deployed on their network, try out award-winning Acer products for free, and with no risk since there is no obligation to purchase.”

To participate in the Acer Education Seed Program, K-12 schools will complete the online application and conduct a call with Acer to confirm program details and help the school administrator choose the product to best meet their school’s needs. Each K-12 customer will then receive either a cloud-based Acer TravelMate B117 Windows notebook or an Acer C730E-C4BA Chromebook(2) . There is no fee or obligation to purchase to participate in the program.

Thirty days after delivery of the systems, customers will have a second conference call with Acer to discuss their impressions of the products. There is no obligation to purchase the seeded product or any other Acer product at that time; customers may explore further options with Acer or return the system.

U.S.-based K-12 schools can apply here. Applications will be accepted beginning today, January 21 through May 31, 2016 or while quantities are available.(1)
