PARK CITY, UT (PRWEB) January 23, 2016
The International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA), a Los Angeles-based company, and now officially an associate of the Sundance Institute, is hosting their inaugural screenwriter and filmmakers event on January 25, 2016, called “The Main Event: Storytellers Panel & Showcase,” during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. This is a fully-sponsored, all-day event, sanctioned by the Sundance Institute at O.P. Rockwell.
“We are dedicating this event to screenwriters and filmmakers looking to establish their voice in independent film and beyond,” says ISA Founder Craig James.
The event will include:
- An intimate conversation with James V. Hart (writer of Contact, Hook, and Bram Stroker's Dracula).
- Breakfast with screenwriting consultant Jen Grisanti (NBC’s Writers on the Verge instructor).
- A panel discussion with Steven Adams (Manager, Buffalo 8 Management), Michele Turnure-Salleo (Head of Filmmaker360 at the San Francisco Film Society), Troy Pryor (Founder and CEO of Creative Cypher), and Mayuran Tiruchelvam (Writer / Co-Producer, The Girl is in Trouble).
A showcase will also be included with scenes read from the ISA’s Table Read My Screenplay Contest. Content will come from Feature and Pilot Grand Prize Winning screenplays by Andy Maycock and LS Garvey, as well as writer Tasha Huo of the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program. The event will close with a cocktail reception and networking party, sponsored by Stella Artois.
The mission to support emerging writers is common between the Sundance Institute and the International Screenwriters’ Association.
“I’ve attended Sundance 15 times and have a special place in my heart for the festival. As the ISA expands, it just seems to make sense to work with the [Sundance] Institute, so together we can help more writers realize their dreams to see their screenplays produced,” James says.
