Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) January 29, 2016 -- Altep Inc., an innovator in e-Discovery, data forensics, and litigation support, announced that Jason Amis has achieved his EnCase Certification (EnCE). This program certifies professionals in the use of Guidance Software’s EnCase computer forensic software.
Amis has been with Altep for two years, and serves as a Data Forensic Examiner in the Data Forensics division. He is assigned to Altep’s Dallas, Texas office, and holds a Texas Private Investigator’s license.
“EnCE® certification has become the gold standard for digital investigators,” said Warren Kruse, Vice President of Data Forensics. “It shows you have the knowledge, and proves that you can execute a proper forensic examination. It is one of the most widely accepted qualifications, particularly with US and UK firms, and we couldn’t be prouder of Jason’s accomplishment.”
Achieving an EnCE certification is a lengthy process. After completing 64 hours of authorized computer forensic training, or accruing 12 months’ work experience, candidates can apply for the EnCE and register for the two-part test. The written exam must be completed in less than 2 hours, and the candidate must earn a passing grade of at least 80 percent. Those who pass the written exam are eligible to take the practical, which is comprised of 18 questions. The candidate must answer a minimum of 15 questions fully in order to be considered for grading, and must pass the practical exam with an 85 percent or better in order to receive the EnCE Certificate.
With a strong skill set in e-discovery, project management, and client service, Amis is also recognized as a Relativity Certified Sales Professional (RCSP) and a Cellebrite Certified Logical Operator (CCLO). He is additionally certified in advanced data analytics by Content Analyst.
“I wanted to attain this certification because it verifies that you have mastered proper investigative methodologies as well as the use of EnCase software during complex computer examinations,” said Amis. “EnCE certification is recognized by the law enforcement, legal, and corporate communities as a mark of in-depth knowledge and skill as an investigator and data forensic examiner.”
