Roanoke Virginia Family Law and Criminal Defense Firm Announces Client Services Initiatives Upon Passing of Founding Lawyer Harvey S. Lutins
Roanoke, Virginia (PRWEB) January 29, 2016 -- Roanoke, Virginia: Divorce and Criminal law firm of Lutins & Pilgreen, PC mourns the passing of its founder and former senior partner, Harvey S. Lutins, and announces Client Services Initiatives.
Mr. Lutins, who preferred to be called Harvey by his clients, graduated from Hampden Sydney College and from the University of Richmond School of Law. Admitted to practice law in 1953, he initially joined the late Messrs. T. Warren Messick and Morton Honeyman in the practice of law in Roanoke, Virginia.
Over his illustrious career, Mr. Lutins appeared in every trial and appellate court in Virginia. He also represented clients before the United State Supreme Court on multiple occasions. His Supreme Court advocacy was instrumental in commuting a death row inmate’s sentence to life in prison.
Mr. Lutins’s legal exploits were documented in Time Magazine after he saved “Ricky the Sheep Killing Dog” from a local judge’s death sentence in 1963. Having authored many legal articles, Mr. Lutins was most proud of his autobiography: “My Jealous Mistress.” He personally typed and edited the manuscript.
The Firm’s Managing Partner, J. Emmette Pilgreen IV, commented: “Harvey came to the bar in a bygone era. He was a virtual walking encyclopedia of legal knowledge and history, and could cite and quote cases from memory. He was one of the most esteemed members of the old guard in the legal community."
Attorney Pilgreen went on to say that “Harvey left an indelible mark on every lawyer who practiced with him over the years. Moreover, his influence and the teachings of his aggressive legal mind will live on at Lutins & Pilgreen, PC.” The law firm of Lutins and Pilgreen, PC traces its history in Roanoke back to the mid-20th century. The firm will continue its aggressive representation of clients in Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation.
Mr. Pilgreen, who has assumed responsibilities as the Firm’s Managing Partner and Senior Counsel, remarked, “Although Harvey was known for his exemplary client service, his passing marks the end of an era and the beginning of a state-of-the-art law firm dedicated to serving client needs in the new millennium.” Mr. Pilgreen continued stating that the highest priority of the Firm is to "intelligently and aggressively protect our client's interest and represent them in court."
