OSTHUS scientific data framework perfectly enables the user to enforce the regulations and terms defined by the data sharing agreement

The mission of IQ is to advance science and technology to augment the capability of member companies to develop transformative solutions that benefit patients, regulators and the broader R&D community. The IQ Database Framework was established to accelerate data sharing activities that support the Consortium’s mission. The Framework is comprised of two components: a legal agreement that governs data sharing within the consortium and a technological solution to enable the data sharing through the creation of the IQ database collection. The benefits made available by the two components of the IQ Database Framework enable working groups within IQ to work more efficiently to achieve their collaborative research goals.
In 2015, the IQ Consortium selected, via an RFP process, OSTHUS, the Architects of the Allotrope Framework, to deliver this technological solution. The foundation for the IQ database collection is the OSTHUS scientific data framework. Major design points of the software are multitenancy support and blinding mechanisms which enable the user to only share the information in the databases which should be contributed. The current release also covers data curation, data integrity, analysis, and audit trails. The unique set of capabilities afforded by the OSTHUS scientific data framework perfectly enables the user to enforce the regulations and terms defined by the data sharing agreement.
Development of the OSTHUS scientific data framework continues in 2016 with the release of extensions and enhancements, with semantic data enrichment and data analytics modules scheduled to be added next.
OSTHUS is a digital solution company inspiring innovations and accelerating R&D with process competence and IT excellence. It was founded in 1996, is headquartered in Germany and operates from multiple sites in Europe, US and Asia. As the Architects of the Allotrope Framework, OSTHUS is working together with 13 of the TOP 20 (bio-)pharma companies to create advanced data architectures and innovative, vendor agnostic software frameworks for lab informatics in R&D and manufacturing.
The International Consortium for Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Development (IQ) is a technically-focused organization of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with a mission of advancing science and technology to augment the capability of member companies to develop transformational solutions that benefit patients, regulators and the broader R&D community. IQ provides a sustained forum for the exchange of ideas within and across technical disciplines in these industries. The Consortium is leading initiatives in the areas of chemistry, manufacturing and control (CMC); preclinical safety; drug metabolism; clinical pharmacology; quality; and the reduction, refinement, and replacement of animal testing. As part of these initiatives, which are managed by Leadership Groups and Working Groups, members lead and participate in collaborative research, industry surveys and benchmarking exercises. IQ is also partnering with governmental bodies, other trade groups, and academic researchers. Through publications, scientific conferences, workshops and roundtables, the Consortium shares the results of its work and facilitates constructive scientific exchange.
