Codan Introduces the Stratus Fixed Site with LTE/3G Cellular Connection Capabilities
(PRWEB) January 30, 2016 -- Codan Radio Communications, a division of Codan Limited (ASX-CDA), has announced the launch of Stratus Fixed Site, a stationary P25 repeater offering LTE/3G cellular backhaul capabilities.
The Stratus Fixed Site provides rugged, reliable, and affordable communication solutions for organizations with fixed P25 base stations and/or repeaters. With the 3G/LTE capability, the Stratus Fixed Site allows organizations to use publicly available 3G/LTE cellular networks for backhaul of their P25 radio traffic into dispatch, replacing the need for costly leased lines and T1 connections.
“The Stratus Fixed Site is a simple solution for companies seeking to reduce monthly costs while increasing their communication efficiency. By leveraging existing next-generation public cellular networks, public safety agencies finally have the ability to move their fixed radio backhaul into the digital world in a very affordable way” said Ben Pearce, Director of Sales at Codan Radio Communications.
Stratus Fixed Site can easily be integrated into existing Codan infrastructure and has the capacity to connect up to four Codan base stations and/or repeaters over a single cellular link. Stratus Fixed Site is interoperable with all P25-compliant subscribers and consoles, utilizing existing P25 equipment for operational and cost efficiency.
