I am honored to be serving the needs of patients seeking plastic surgery-related care at the Scarborough Hospital by leading a team of medical professionals who provide top-quality service with both safety and results in mind.
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) February 05, 2016
After years as an active staff surgeon and having served as the director of the Scarborough General Hospital Burn Unit, plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Wayne Carman transitioned to chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at what is now known as the Scarborough Hospital. He successfully completed his first three-year term as chief and began a second three-year term in January of 2016.
The original selection was by election of the members of the division of plastic surgery, and the second term was by invitation by the hospital administration as represented by the chief of surgery.
The Scarborough Hospital - Division of Plastic Surgery offers a wide variety of elective procedures, including treatment for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction; post-massive-weight-loss body contouring; wound-healing management; burn treatment; hand surgery; removal of benign and malignant skin lesions; and more.
Beyond the elective surgeries and procedures, division team members are consulted by the hospital’s Emergency Department to care for trauma victims – dealing with motor vehicle accidents, lacerations, facial fractures, and severe infections. The Plastic Surgery staff is available all hours of the day, every day of the week.
In addition to his work with the hospital, Dr. Carman founded and directs the private Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Toronto, where he performs breast augmentation, lifts, and reduction; liposuction and tummy tucks; and facelifts, rhinoplasty, and other facial surgeries; as well as non-surgical cosmetic treatments, such as BOTOX® injections.
Professional memberships include the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Scarborough Hospital Surgical Society. He is past president of the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, serves as secretary-treasurer for the Canadian Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, and serves on the editorial staff of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
Despite his busy schedule and the great demand for his skills and expertise, Dr. Carman insists on a personal consultation with each patient who comes to his practice, ensuring that their specific and unique concerns are heard as they work with him to develop a plan to reach their aesthetic goals. He believes face-to-face conversations are irreplaceable in the health industry.
