RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association Applauds Department of Defense for Family Friendly Policies
McLean, VA (PRWEB) February 01, 2016 -- RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association applauds the Department of Defense (DoD) on announcing their comprehensive family benefits for military families. Secretary Ashton Carter announced through the “Building the Second Link to the Force of the Future,” that the DoD is strengthening it’s comprehensive family benefits through, among others, adoption assistance, egg and sperm freezing, and expanding research on assisted reproductive technologies (IVF). As the nation’s largest employer, the DoD is setting a precedent for other employers to follow.
“Military families sacrifice so much for our nation’s security, those facing infertility deserve our help, and this initiative provides those families with family building options,” said Barbara Collura, President/CEO of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. “I want to thank Secretary Carter for his leadership in ensuring equal access to all family building options for military families.”
In November 2015, Secretary Carter announced initiatives for reforms in recruiting, talent management, and retention. Yesterday’s announcement brought a second set of initiatives to improve the quality of life of military parents and attract and retain the best talent.
