Pacific Reef Hotel Unveils Industry’s First Oceanfront Outdoor Theater, and High-Definition Weather Camera
GOLD BEACH, Ore. (PRWEB) February 03, 2016 -- Pacific Reef Hotel today announced the completion of the Pacific Reef Adventure Theater, a state-of-the-art outdoor entertainment theater positioned along the hotel’s direct access to the Gold Beach of Oregon, making it the hotel industry’s first oceanfront outdoor theater.
The theater’s nightly entertainment features a newly debuted and immersive 16-minute tour of the finest scenic landmarks on the Southern Oregon coast, providing an abundance of inspiration for guests hoping to make the most of their stays. Throughout the year, the theater will provide themed entertainment changing with the seasons, as well as kid-friendly teasers such as Pixar’s recent oceanic animation, “Lava.”
“We’re thrilled to introduce the Adventure Theater with this one-of-a-kind experience for exploring Oregon’s hidden coastal treasures,” said Pacific Reef Hotel owner Gene Pranger. “In an industry that typically struggles to attract occupants during the winter season, Pacific Reef is going above and beyond remarkable accommodations to provide unforgettable entertainment as well.”
After test showings, guests at Pacific Reef are raving about the nightly cinematic feature, including the following praises on TripAdvisor, one of the most widely-used sources of user-reviewed travel information on the Internet:
• “Gorgeous video footage”
• “Thoughtful and funny commentary that even the kids would like”
• “Awesome video screen that tells you places to visit”
• “Love the rocking chairs on the patio and the outdoor movie in the evening”
The Adventure Theater measures 33 feet wide by 12 feet high and consists of smart glass that transitions from opaque to clear so that daytime views of the ocean remain unobstructed. The theater also includes a high-definition projector, sound system and open-air seating, though guests can view the theater from the comfort of their balconies, too. Showings will also soon be broadcast to each room’s television, both for convenience and in the case of inclement weather.
In addition to the theater, the hotel has installed a high-definition weather camera called the Pacific Reef Whale Cam for capturing real-time visuals of the surf. The camera provides a live, HD video feed of the Gold Beach, Oregon, coastline and an up-close opportunity for whale and seal sightings. Pacific Reef offers free access to this feed as a resource for TV stations to use in their weather reports. The feed will eventually be broadcast for guests to view from their rooms as well.
