(PRWEB) February 03, 2016 -- Diversity Woman Magazine’s winter issue features recipients of the national “Stars Who Mean Business Peer Awards.” The awards were presented during the 10th annual National Diversity Women’s Business Leadership Conference at the Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center in Buena Vista, Florida last October.
The recipients of the Stars Award are: First Star - Patricia Harris, Global Chief Diversity Officer & Vice President, Global Community Engagement of McDonald’s Corporation; Leading Star – Audra Bohannon, Senior Partner at Korn Ferry; Peer Star – Carmen Smith, Vice President of Creative Development of Walt Disney Imagineering, and in the Rising Star category there are two winners; Angela Talton, Senior Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion of Nielsen and Ramona Royal, Human Resource Officer of AMICA.
The awards recognize, celebrate and honor individuals whose work, passion, commitment and results have made a positive impact in advancing the field of diversity and inclusion and are presented during the annual Diversity Women’s Business Leadership Conference founded by Diversity Woman magazine publisher Sheila Robinson. “The ‘Stars Who Mean Business Peer Awards’ honors diversity executives who share Diversity Woman magazine’s vision and commitment to support the leadership and executive development of people of all races, cultures and backgrounds,” says Robinson.
The selection committee of diversity executives is lead by chair Anise Wiley-Little, chief human capital and diversity officer for Kellogg School of Management and author of the book, Profitable Diversity. “We are thrilled to honor the recipients of the ‘Stars Who Mean Business Peer Awards,’ recognizing leaders who deliver measurable results and impact change within their organizations and within the broader community each day, through selfless dedication to their work. The honorees have made a tremendous contribution to the field of Diversity and Inclusion. These individuals surpass the criteria of understanding their craft through driving business results through diversity, being generous with their deep knowledge, giving back to the community, embracing their peers and sharing knowledge by not forgetting about the up and coming diversity practitioners that are behind them.”
Publisher Sheila Robinson emphasizes that what differentiates this award from others in the field is that the recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by their peers.
