Florida Hospital North Pinellas Celebrates the Opening of the Wound Healing Institute of Trinity
(PRWEB) February 03, 2016 -- Florida Hospital North Pinellas celebrated the opening of the Wound Healing Institute of Trinity at a Community Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The new facility, located at 5140 Deer Park Drive in New Port Richey, began serving patients on December 14, 2015.
The Wound Healing Institute of Trinity is staffed with physicians and nurses that specialize in hyperbaric medicine. Services include: topical wound therapy, debridement, compression therapy, patient and caregiver counseling, wound-prevention education, wound and culture biopsies, and special needs for pressure relief, including beds, seat cushions and footwear.
The facility also has four state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. “Many conditions can cause people to suffer from non-healing wounds,” said Karen Owensby, Interim CEO and Chief Clinical and Nursing Officer. “Florida Hospital North Pinellas is happy to expand our wound healing services to those in need throughout the Trinity and West Pasco communities.”
Florida Hospital North Pinellas also has a wound care facility adjacent to the main hospital, located in Tarpon Springs. The two locations are estimated to serve between five hundred and six hundred patients in 2016.
