Greenberg Traurig’s David Gitlin and Beth Cohen Participate in the Pennsylvania Angel Venture Fair
Philadelphia (PRWEB) February 04, 2016 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will sponsor the 18th Annual Angel Venture Fair (AVF), a three-part event taking place in Philadelphia. David Gitlin, co-leader of the Emerging Technology Practice, and Beth Cohen, director of Global Emerging Growth Services, will participate in the series of events.
The AVF will begin with Education Day Feb. 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Quorum located at the University City Science Center. Cohen will serve as a legal panelist providing insight into deal negotiation. The event will also feature a panel of investors discussing entrepreneurial investment.
The second event, Selection Day, will be held March 6 where 50 companies will be invited to present their company pitch to a panel of judges, which will include Cohen and other members of the Greenberg Traurig team. Twenty-four non-university and 10 university companies will be selected to showcase their venture at the final event of the series, the AVF April 26. The AVF will be held at the Union League of Philadelphia from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cohen is chair of the coaching committee and has served in this role for the last three years.
The AVF brings together the largest gathering of angel investors and entrepreneurs in the Mid-Atlantic region and has showcased over 500 companies in the last 18 years. The event provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to network and collaborate with angel investors.
Gitlin co-leads the firm’s Emerging Technology Practice. He focuses his practice on corporate and securities, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, technology development, and corporate finance. For more than 30 years, Gitlin has counseled foreign clients doing business in the United States and U.S. clients doing business abroad. He has structured more than 350 M&A and venture capital deals, many of which have been cross-border transactions involving leading businesses in Finland, India, Israel, and Sweden, among others.
Cohen has served as a business development, marketing, and legal professional with more than 20 years of experience in international and domestic markets covering the technology, health care, clean tech, and life sciences industries. She has led diverse strategic and marketing initiatives, negotiated key business relationships, and worked as legal counsel for large and small companies. In her role as director of Global Emerging Growth Services, she advises clients on emerging growth issues, and counsels early and growth stage clients in connection with key strategic initiatives, including raising capital. Cohen also advises foreign companies in connection with their entry into the U.S. market.
