Mercy College’s Business Honors Program and InfoDesk are a great match. Connecting students willing to learn with real world professionals ready to teach—is a win-win for all involved.

InfoDesk has announced that four Mercy College students have been selected to participate in InfoDesk’s newly established internship program. The new internship program was developed in cooperation with Mercy College’s Business Honors Program to provide outstanding students with professional development opportunities with InfoDesk, a Tarrytown-based technology company. InfoDesk is a leading provider of information management solutions to leading companies, government agencies and other organizations worldwide.
The internship program began two weeks ago and will run until the end of the semester in May. The new interns are Zain Bedi, a freshman studying finance who will work with InfoDesk’s finance department; Tashin Korur, a sophomore studying accounting who will work with the client implementation team; Taylor Price, a sophomore also studying finance who will work the sales team; and Madison Waldvogel, a sophomore studying marketing who will work with product development team.
“We are very pleased to have this bright group of students on board for the semester,” said Lynn Epstein, InfoDesk COO. “All the candidates we met from Mercy were impressive,” said Epstein, adding, “we hope this will mark the beginning of an ongoing and mutually beneficial relationship between Mercy College and InfoDesk.”
Last April, InfoDesk participated in a career fair at Mercy College along with approximately 30 other local and national companies seeking to hire students and recent graduates. At that career fair, InfoDesk met, and hired, two Mercy College students to work part-time. They are Francis Amajjoute, a senior studying business now working with the client implementation team and Tanner Force, a sophomore studying finance now working with the sales and marketing teams.
“Francis and Tanner have been great, they have been energetic innovators and are exactly the leaders we needed to start an internship program,” said Epstein. Adding, that InfoDesk worked with Dr. Ed Weis, Dean of the School of Business at Mercy College, to develop a formal internship program. “The new interns will help InfoDesk pioneer this exciting program,” said Epstein.
“Mercy’s vibrant academic community places a high value on learning outside of the classroom with real-world experiences,” said Dr. Weis. “This approach to learning encourages students to better apply what they learn in the classroom to their career,” adding, “the InfoDesk internship program is another example of the outstanding support and opportunities our students receive.”
According to Dr. Weis, Mercy College Business Honors Program focuses on active learning for each student. To better prepare the students as they enter their careers, the program strives to establish partnerships with professional organizations to provide real world training through internships. Mercy students are highly qualified within the areas of leadership and public speaking. They come to the table with a passion for business and high grade point averages.
“Mercy College’s Business Honors Program and InfoDesk are a great match. Connecting students willing to learn with real world professionals ready to teach—is a win-win for all involved,” said Dr. Weis.
