ShirtSpace Announces Biannual Scholarship Winners, New Scholarship Opportunity

ShirtSpace, known for celebrating up and coming artists, announces winners of their biannual scholarship contest. In addition, the company announces details relating to a new scholarship opportunity focused on fashion design.

In the spirit of recognizing and rewarding the next generation of graphic designers and artists, is excited to announce the winners of their biannual ShirtSpace Scholarship.

Congratulations to the following winners:

  •     1st place: Leah Sprague
  •     2nd place: Amy Shumaker
  •     3rd place: Robbin Kim

Applicants of the biannual ShirtSpace scholarship contest responded to an essay prompt about what vital roles art and design play in today’s ever-moving society. Applicants were encouraged to discuss how artists today can reach a wide audience and inspire thoughtful conversations.

Applicants were graded based on several factors including their current GPA, originality, and the content of their essay.

SpirtSpace is also excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity. The fashion design scholarship will narrow in on the next generation of graphic designers by selecting the most impressive and 100 percent original graphic design during their “DIY T-shirt Makeover” scholarship contest.

Applicants need to currently be attending college or be a high school senior actively applying to college. In order to qualify, candidates must be following (or liking) ShirtSpace on social media. Applicants should post a photo of themselves (or a friend) wearing the original design to the ShirtSpace Instagram account using the hashtag #ShirtSpaceDesign in order to be considered.

Deadline for entry is June 30th. A winner is expected to be announced in July, 2016.
