"This year’s EPOMEC conference will include innovation like two speakers on the stage at the same time with two different topics, 3D near live surgery, breakfast with experts, sending questions directly to the moderator, voting system, and much more."

With a focus on innovation and encouraging participation and debate between participants, the 3rd edition of the Evolving Practice of Ophthalmology Middle East Conference will take place from 24th – 26th March 2016 in Dubai, UAE at the Conrad Hotel.

The conference, one of the biggest ophthalmology meetings in the region, is organised by Samaya Hospital, under the auspices of Emirates Society of Ophthalmology (ESO), and in cooperation with the EURETINA society and multiple Gulf Ophthalmic Societies.

The conference will provide a platform for delegates from MENA & Asia-Pacific regions to meet and discuss the evolution of Ophthalmology practice in the Middle East in the presence of emerging technology, newly available drug treatments as well as the latest scientific knowledge, advancements, issues and challenges in the field of ophthalmology.

In 2016, the conference brings to the region, for the first time, an opportunity for delegates to listen to two speakers on stage, deliver two different topics at the same time. Delegates can switch between the two presentations via headsets as well as send questions directly from the interactive iPads provided to delegates.

Dr. Saleh Saif Al Messabi, the chair of education and research department in Samaya Hospital and the Chairperson of the EPOMEC 2016 conference said, “This conference is an ideal platform to connect with experts from different corners of the world, to share ideas and to explore the potential of new advances in medical technology.”

He added, “This year’s EPOMEC conference will include innovation like two speakers on the stage at the same time with two different topics, 3D near live surgery, breakfast with experts, sending questions directly to the moderator, voting system, and much more.”

He also pointed out, “EPOMEC 2016 would showcase key note speakers, experts from Italy, Argentina, UK, Ireland, Turkey, Brazil, KSA, UAE, Egypt, India and many more from countries around the world. They will be introducing an incomparable program that will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Ophthalmology.”

Over 1, 400 delegates are expected to attend the 3-day conference, which will cover the most pertinent topics in ophthalmology such as glaucoma, cataracts, pediatric ophthalmology, refractive & vitreo-retinal surgery, retina & uveitis, cornea, neuro ophthalmology & business in ophthalmology.
