Simply Self Storage Announces Strategic Hiring of Several Key Executives
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) February 09, 2016 -- Simply Self Storage (http://www.simplyss.com) announces the hiring of five senior level executives among others: Charles McPhee, Senior Vice President of Development, Rich Windisch, Regional Vice President, John Hirschfeld, Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Cameron Urry, Vice President of Digital Marketing, Katya Hristova, Vice President of Pre Development, and Transitional District Managers, David Welsh and Terry White.
Charles McPhee joins the team as the Senior Vice President of Development and is based out of Los Angeles, CA. Mr. McPhee was most recently the SVP of Development for Public Storage where he was responsible for hiring a development team of 17 professionals located in Southern California, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta and New Jersey. Mr. McPhee has built an active pipeline of approximately 60 development projects in major MSAs. Previous to Public Storage, Mr. McPhee held a position as Executive Vice President of Development of Catellus Development Corporation overseeing the national development platform for both the public and private versions of Catellus. Mr. McPhee was also the Senior Vice President of Development for Macerich (NYSE: MAC); Senior Vice President Development Western U.S. for Prologis (NYSE: PLD) and Senior Vice President Development for The Howard Hughes Corporation (formerly Summa Corporation). Mr. McPhee holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Santa Clara University.
Rich Windisch joins Simply Self Storage as Regional Vice President bringing 12 plus years of self-storage industry experience. Prior to joining Simply Self Storage, Mr. Windisch was most recently the VP-Operations for Strategic Storage Trust. At Strategic Storage Trust, Mr. Windisch was responsible for overseeing 168 self-storage facilities located in 21 states and Ontario, Canada. Mr. Windisch holds an MBA degree in Finance from IONA College. Mr. Windisch is responsible for the self-storage operations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
John Hirschfeld has been a crucial part of the Simply Self Storage team since 2006 and was recently promoted to the role of Vice President of Corporate Strategy. During his tenure with Simply Self Storage, Mr. Hirschfeld was a District Manager primarily responsible for field operations in Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas. He was also responsible for leading teams in Ohio and Illinois and providing training to newly hired District Managers. Prior to joining Simply Self Storage, Mr. Hirschfeld worked as a District Manager for Chuck and Don’s Pet Food Outlet and FedEx Office after graduating from Minnesota State University. In his new role with Simply Self Storage, Mr. Hirschfeld will oversee the company’s Marketing, Training and IT departments.
Cameron Urry joins Simply Self Storage from Extra Space Storage as the Vice President of Digital Marketing. Mr. Urry has been in digital marketing for 14 years with experience in both agency and client side advertising. He has been recognized as an innovator and for pushing the limits of digital technology during his time at Extra Space Storage and will continue to do so as part of the Simply team. Cameron enjoys spending time with his family in Salt Lake City, UT.
Katya Hristova joins Simply Self Storage as the Vice President of Pre Development. Ms. Hristova is trained as an architect and has more than ten years of professional experience managing and coordinating the design, construction and successful completion of mixed- use developments, large campus and institutional projects. She has extensive knowledge of sustainable building concepts and has been involved in numerous LEED certified projects while working for some of the leading design firms in Boston and Cambridge, MA. Ms. Hristova is an active member of industry organizations, such as the US Green Building Council, the Urban Land Institute and CCIM. She is a LEED accredited professional and has an in-depth comprehension of energy preservation, principles and practices. She maintained a real estate professional license in Chicago while acquiring Bachelor of Architectural with honors from Illinois Institute of Technology. She is soon to obtain a Master of Real Estate Development from Auburn University.
David Welsh has been a part of the Simply Self Storage team since 2014 and has recently been promoted to the role of Transitional District Manager. Prior to joining the Simply team, Mr. Welsh was with Dillard’s as an Area Sales Manager and Operations Manager. Prior to that, he was employed as a Market Leader with Inkstop. In his new role with Simply Self Storage, Mr. Welsh will be instrumental with conversions and bringing new properties on board.
Terry White has been with Simply Self Storage since September 2014 and has recently been promoted to the role of Transitional District Manager. Prior to joining the organization, Mr. White was with FedEx Office as a Senior Manager and Hair Club for Men and Women as a Managing Director. In 1998, Terry began the USA side of his career after being transferred by TVI, Inc. as a District Manager for the Great Lakes market. In his new role with Simply Self Storage, Mr. White will be instrumental with conversions and bringing new properties on board.
