Sisu Healthcare IT Solutions Wins Contract with Redwood Area Hospital
Duluth, MN (PRWEB) February 11, 2016 -- Sisu Healthcare IT Solutions recently secured a partnership to provide IT solutions to Redwood Area Hospital, a critical access hospital with 25 inpatient beds located in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
Redwood Area Hospital has selected Sisu to migrate its MEDITECH electronic health record (EHR) system, including acute, home health and various integrated third-party applications to Sisu’s data center facility for hosting and technical managed services. Redwood Area Hospital had previously maintained its IT infrastructure on-premises, and it had come due for a refresh that was projected to be costly.
"We're thrilled to bring a hosting solution to Redwood Area Hospital that allows the organization to dedicate its capital resources to improving patient care, rather than investing in its on-premises IT infrastructure," said Scott Lee, CEO of Sisu.
"Replacing servers, upgrading various components and staff training for our current onsite hosting system would have cost our hospital millions of dollars and did not provide us with the security of offsite hosting," explained Bryan Lydick, CEO of Redwood Area Hospital. "By partnering with Sisu and moving our EHR to the cloud, we are able to offset the costs of a major investment in computer technology equipment with estimated savings of nearly $1 million. After reviewing a variety of hosting options, we selected Sisu to host our EHR because of its experience with rural and critical access hospitals."
"Critical access hospitals, like Redwood Area Hospital, form a significant part of the fabric of the economy of their communities," added Lee. "Sisu is honored to support Redwood Area Hospital as it continues to operate as a city-owned healthcare organization, and we're looking at this contract as the beginning of a strong, long-term partnership."
As part of their developing relationship, Sisu and Redwood Area Hospital will continue to collaborate on how Sisu can best assist Redwood Area Hospital’s IT staff and department leaders with a variety of application support, interoperability and consulting services.
Securing the contract with Redwood Area Hospital represents another major win in a drive to expand Sisu's client base in the healthcare provider segment with a focus on community and rural healthcare organizations, including critical access hospitals. In addition to closing a contract with Sleepy Eye Medical Center in October, the company recently hired a new Chief Revenue Officer, Kevin McArdle, and a Senior Account Manager, Ariel Avestruz, to help identify and facilitate partnerships for the company.
Sisu has also focused on expanding its product offerings, an initiative spearheaded by Chief Information Officer, Kris Olberg.
"We're excited to be able to offer Redwood Area Hospital a broad portfolio of IT hosting services through this contract," Olberg said. "We will continue to develop the services we offer to provide more community and rural healthcare organizations with the integrated, end-to-end solutions that prevent gaps in service and ensure greater data use and control by clinicians and patients alike." Sisu recently hired a new Vice President of Program Services, Keith van Beusekom, to head up this initiative under Olberg's leadership.
"Redwood Area Hospital is a facility dedicated to excellence, recognized for top quartile performance last year by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH)," concluded Lee. "We're pleased to help Redwood Area Hospital continue its mission of providing exceptional healthcare to its surrounding communities."
