Today, Hotel Zetta and Hello Scout announced a partnership to bring a new type of concierge service to the boutique hotel. Hello Scout is an on-demand concierge service that provides independent, authentic advice about what to see and do around town. Whether it’s a last minute sailing tour or a reservation for a business dinner, with Hello Scout, guests can make it happen with just a text.

Located in the heart of San Francisco, Hotel Zetta, managed by the LA based Viceroy Hotel Group, was designed to integrate and facilitate the San Francisco traveler’s day-to-day momentum. “We were looking for technology solutions that would help us communicate with our guests in the way that they are used to,” said Michael Gonsalves, Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Viceroy Hotel Group San Francisco. “Hello Scout was an obvious partner because their service is like texting a friend for advice – we loved that!”

“People have become more accustomed to doing everything on-demand and on their phones,” said David Temple, CEO and cofounder of Hello Scout. “This extends to how they travel. Boutique hotels like Hotel Zetta are always looking for unique ways to delight their guests and take customer service to the next level. We provide an on-demand concierge that’s essentially a personal assistant while you’re in town.”

The traditional hotel structure often creates literal and figurative barriers that prevent people from getting what they want. Whether it’s a line at the concierge desk or simply not physically being at the hotel when they have a question, guests shouldn’t have to wait for an answer. Hello Scout allows guests to contact a person in real time, and get immediate responses wherever they are in the city. “It allows our guests to multi-task during meetings, surprise their spouses with amazing experiences and find that perfect hole-in-the-wall by texting their location to Hello Scout while wandering San Francisco’s streets. These kinds of conveniences are what drive loyalty from our guests.

Implementation of the Hello Scout app is simple. Guests receive an email upon confirming their reservation and are invited to download the app. They can choose to communicate with their local expert, or “Scout,” via SMS or in the app itself. By using the app ahead of time, their Scout can make recommendations based on the guest’s preferences as well as book trips and tours, and make reservations at local hotspots.

For the hotel, Hello Scout provides monthly recaps of each interaction which gives the hotel a tangible way to understand their guests’ needs and interests. “That connection to our guests is invaluable,” said Gonsalves.

Hello Scout is currently available through boutique and lifestyle hotels like Hotel Zetta and their new sister Hotel Zeppelin, opening in March 2016 in San Francisco’s Union Square.
