A Better World, a game on Facebook, offers a fun, easy way to do good for Random Acts of Kindness Week. A Better World is an uplifting virtual world game that encourages positive actions, positive thinking, and giving to social causes to make a difference (Facebook.com/ABetterWorld). So far, more than 4 million people have done more than 39 million good deeds in A Better World.
Random Acts of Kindness Week (randomactsofkindness.org) is February 14th-20th and asks people to step up acts of kindness, be generous, and commit to being a better person. There are many ways to do this in A Better World, all while having a good time, including:
- Doing a Kindness for your Neighbor
- Sharing Hopes and Dreams
- Expressing Gratitude
- Sending Love
- Asking for Prayers
- Sending Get Well Notes to Real World Sick Children
There are fun rewards within A Better World for doing good, including the ability to dress up, take care of pets, and decorate virtual homes.
“A Better World is built on the idea that people have a deep desire to do good and make a difference. The game encourages kind acts, among many other ways of doing good, so we're excited to play our part in Random Acts of Kindness Week's inspiring effort to make the world a better place. We believe everyone needs just a little encouragement to do good, and a A Better World is a fun and impactful way to get that motivation,” said Chief Product Officer, Gregory Hansell.
Players in A Better World work together to meet do-good goals that, when met, release money to charities. A Better World calls this Cause Gaming®. Causes supported include feeding families around the world, surgeries enabling children to walk, and coats for children in need. A Better World has partnered with CURE International, Operation Warm, World Vision, and the Dr. Phil Foundation, among many others.
