Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 16, 2016 -- Venture capital firm MissionOG (http://www.missionog.com) today announced that Rob Metzger has joined the firm as senior advisor. Rob joins MissionOG from William Blair, where he served as the Head of the Technology and Financial Services Investment Banking Groups and spearheaded the firm’s highly successful financial technology practice.
“Having advised on numerous successful transactions in fintech, payments, software, and information services during his career, Rob brings a great deal of highly relevant and valuable experience to our team,” said Andy Newcomb, managing partner of MissionOG. “We expect Rob’s background and perspective to be a difference maker for our current and future companies as we look to drive high value for the Fund and our investors.”
In his role, Rob will focus on building high quality deal flow, shaping investment reviews, and growing a network of major enterprise customers and likely strategic buyers of portfolio companies.
“I have known Rob for 15 years and have a great deal of respect for his knowledge, network, and work ethic,” remarked Gene Lockhart, chairman and managing partner of MissionOG. “When we started MissionOG, Rob was someone with whom I vetted the concept. Adding him to the team creates significant value for the firm and our portfolio companies.”
“With MissionOG, I’ll be wearing an investor hat when engaging the markets that I covered for the last 15 years,” explained Rob. “I am excited to direct value-added capital into growing companies that are disrupting big markets.”
Rob is currently the Director of the Investment Banking Academy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he runs and teaches an innovative program on investment banking. Prior to William Blair, Rob held positions with ICG Commerce, ABN AMRO, A.T. Kearney, and Price Waterhouse. Rob is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received his MBA from Northwestern.
