DALLAS, TX – February 16, 2016 – RISE, which began service in July 2015, today announced it has completed its 1,500th flight and is planning quick expansion into six additional cities in Texas and beyond. The Dallas-based technology start-up has crafted a new form of business travel that involves “sharing” business aircraft with other RISE Members to airports in Dallas, Austin, and Houston (Hobby and David Wayne Hooks).
Originally coined by RISE founder and CEO, Nick Kennedy as “Private Flight-Sharing”, and more recently as “Crowdsourced Aviation”, the company is adding Members, flights, and employees while boosting business for flight charter operators.
“The demand for RISE service is increasing rapidly,” said Kennedy. “Approximately 70-percent of our Members are transitioning to RISE from either traditional air carriers or their cars, meaning this form of travel is truly meeting an untapped need for professionals – not just restructuring the world of private aviation.” Kennedy adds, “If the Wright brothers were alive today they would be aghast at what air travel has become for the consumer and may wish they'd stuck to making bicycles. Travelers have long accepted a mediocre experience that robs us of time because there was no other option. Now, with RISE, we’ve used technology to provide an elegant and efficient travel experience that restores the joy of flight.”
RISE, which does not own or operate any aircraft nor hold its service out to the public, purchases airlift from highly qualified operators who have successfully completed the operations component of the rigorous assessment and selection process called REOS (RISE Enhanced Operating System). REOS is a proprietary travel technology management system which ensures a safe and efficient travel experience for RISE members. REOS encompasses all the systems across RISE including marketing, sales, operations, member management and technology.
“One of the most surprising and exciting aspects of this journey has been to see the impact RISE has had on the stagnant business aviation industry,” said Kennedy. “In the first six months of operation, we have transformed business for operators by enabling them to increase aircraft utilization from 20% to 80%.”
RISE leverages its proprietary software to match available business jet inventory with increasing demand while creating a unique and personalized RISE experience for hundreds of Members every time they fly.
The company’s 50 employees are all focused on one mission: to remove the hassles and inconveniences associated with frequent commercial flying. RISE Members pay a monthly fee and fly unlimited to RISE destinations while shaving an estimated three hours off of each roundtrip.
RISE Member, Manish Angrawl, President of BreWingz Sports Bar & Grill, stated “RISE has revolutionized the way I work. Instead of having to spend multiple days away from my family, I can get to whatever city I need to be in that day and be back in time for dinner. The experience with the crew members, staff and comfort of the plane truly make this a private plane experience for a fraction of the cost.”
“Just half a year ago we were coming out of a year-long battle to get RISE off the ground,” said Kennedy. “I have no doubt the growing RISE family will be celebrating our 10,000th flight before we know it.”
