New Collection of Aerospace Engine and Airframe Technical Standards Now Available from SAE ITC
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) February 18, 2016 -- More than 3,200 technical standards are now available through the SAE ITC Engine & Airframe (SAE ITC E&A) Standards collection. SAE ITC is an affiliate of SAE International.
The collection comprises Aerospace Standards and additional manufacturing and inspection requirements issues as reference sheets or technical specifications for engines, airframe fasteners and electrical connectors.
The collection group includes
• Aircraft General Series (mainly airframe parts)
• Aerospace Standards (mainly engine fasteners)
• Electrical Standard Connectors (engine related
• Reference Sheets

The SAE ITC E&A program has its origins in defining commonality of parts for UK industry during First World War and so has commonality with the SAE International Aerospace Standards program. It comprises a suite of 3258 standards (450 active) and an associated and mandatory part qualification program. The program is UK-based and industry-managed through the Technical Standards Committee (TSC). SAE ITC purchased the program from ADS in January 2015.
SAE’s Aerospace Standards repository includes nearly 8,500 documents. Its 350 committees comprise 10,000 experts from 56 countries. They represent industry (airframers, suppliers, operators, MROs), regulatory authorities, military agencies, researchers, and consultants. Document development serves the full spectrum of aerospace businesses in both the commercial and military sectors thereby meeting the engineering, advanced technology, safety, regulatory, and defense needs of a world market.
The SAE ITC's mission is to build industry infrastructure tailored to the respective technology, market and industry member groups while satisfying time horizons and providing the responsible resources to enable achievement of industry objectives.
SAE International is a global association committed to being the ultimate knowledge source for the engineering profession. By uniting over 127,000 engineers and technical experts, we drive knowledge and expertise across a broad spectrum of industries. We act on two priorities: encouraging a lifetime of learning for mobility engineering professionals and setting the standards for industry engineering. We strive for a better world through the work of our charitable arm, the SAE Foundation, which helps fund programs like A World in Motion® and the Collegiate Design Series™.
