ACHC Announces Certification of First Compounding Pharmacy in Canada

Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) announced today that the first pharmacy successfully achieved certification under the PCAB Certification Program for Canadian Compounding. Torrance Compounding Pharmacy, which provides non-sterile and sterile compounding services, demonstrated compliance with the industry’s highest standards, including USP 795 and USP 797 requirements.

Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) announced today that the first pharmacy successfully achieved certification under the PCAB Certification Program for Canadian Compounding. Torrance Compounding Pharmacy, which provides non-sterile and sterile compounding services, demonstrated compliance with the industry’s highest standards, including USP 795 and USP 797 requirements.

The steps taken to achieve Certification serve to provide an added measure of quality and safety assurance for physicians, payors, and patients alike.”

The PCAB Certification Program for Canadian Compounding assesses the compounding process based on a specific set of standards that concentrate on the quality and consistency of compounded medications. Qualified pharmacists with experience in the area of compounding conduct each survey with a consultative approach that is designed to facilitate the highest level of quality and safety in compounded medications.
