Milan Supply Chain Solutions welcomed visitors from the Jackson Chamber and Tennessee’s Economic Development community for a tour of its Jackson distribution center Feb. 15. Milan Supply Chain Solutions has 530,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space in Milan and Jackson, Tennessee, in addition to complete asset based transportation services.

Staff members and attendees discussed the experience, expertise and financial resources Milan offers to help industries and corporations meet their warehousing and distribution goals. The Milan leadership team discussed diverse types of businesses they have served in past decades, including Fortune 500 companies that have relied on Milan’s experience and flexibility to store and distribute food-grade products.

Licensed by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture through the FDA as a food-grade warehouse, Milan offers clients real-time inventory visibility online. Economic development and chamber leaders also toured the gated facility to have a better understanding of Milan’s security measures, experience with proper stacking and inventory handling, space utilization and warehouse management, barcode system that maximizes efficiency and attributes that are vital for food-grade certifications. Milan distribution centers are temperature regulated and odor free, monitored for pest and insect control and have six to 10 air changes per hour. Rated superior by the American Institute of Baking, Milan Supply Chain Solutions’ AIB certification is in process now.

Following the tour, Jackson Chamber president Kyle Spurgeon said, “Companies like Milan Supply Chain Solutions are vital to the continued economic growth of this region.
