Agile Combined with Modeling Tools Yielding Greater Engineering Schedule Performance, According to Report from VDC
Natick, MA (PRWEB) February 19, 2016 -- Many engineering organizations are reevaluating their development strategies as they see the benefits of Agile and modeling tools, according to a new report by VDC Research (click here for more info). On-time schedule performance remains a pervasive challenge for many software design teams. The use of serial development workflows and incumbent tools is becoming progressively inadequate as code bases continue to rapidly grow larger and more complicated. The improved accuracy and speed of software creation with Agile methods is encouraging adoption to scale. But for some teams, the pace of progress is insufficient and further improvements are necessary.
“Engineering teams are increasingly using software and system models within an Agile framework to help improve their productivity,” says Andre’ Girard, Senior Analyst of IoT and Embedded Technology. “They are iterating by exchanging models before finalizing designs and generating code.”
Results from the VDC 2015 System Development Survey demonstrate that using modeling tools and Agile methods together can provide even greater performance improvement than the use of either separately. Going forward, these strategies will be applied in unison more frequently as engineering organizations realize the synergistic benefit of this combination.
