Dave Shaver, Corepoint Health CTO and co-chair of the HL7 FHIR Governance Committee, will present four HL7 FHIR educational sessions at Corepoint Health’s booth, #3408, at the HIMSS 2016 Annual Conference and Exhibition, March 1-3, in Las Vegas. HIMSS is the health IT industry’s leading conference and is attended by more than 38,000 professionals.

HL7 FHIR is an emerging health data standard that is helping health IT software vendors exchange patient data between applications. Many in the industry believe that HL7 FHIR, which utilizes modern approaches to data exchange similar to Facebook, Twitter and Amazon, is the long-awaited answer to healthcare’s current interoperability challenges.

Shaver will present four whiteboard sessions for HIMSS attendees at the Corepoint Health booth, #3408, during the following times:

  • 2:00 p.m., Tues., March 1
  • 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Wed., March 2
  • 10:30 a.m., Thurs., March 3

Reservations are recommended but are not required.

Shaver currently serves as the co-chair of both the HL7 FHIR Governance Board and the HL7 Infrastructure and Messaging Committee. He received the 2011 HL7 W. Ed Hammond Volunteer of the Year award and was named an HL7 Fellow in 2013.
