Gables Corporate Accommodations was honored at the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) winning the Tower of Excellence Award Best Community-Philanthropic Program 2015.
CHPA’s Best Community/Philanthropic Program recognizes a company that had a project or program that provided the most assistance or benefit to the community. Judging criteria included program/concept objective, effectively reaching the community or organization, sample or example of the program/concept- including a cost/benefit analysis, effectiveness, outcome, creativity, and quality and finally, success of program or event.
GCA‘s focus was hunger awareness in their surrounding communities. Gables partnered with three outstanding organizations that make a difference to families in need: Love with Food, Move for Hunger and Focusing Families.
Love with Food, http://www.lovewithfood.com, sells subscription snack boxes with a purpose. For every box sold, Love with Food donates a meal to several food banks such as the Feeding America Network and Share Our Strength - No Kid Hungry. Move for Hunger, http://www.moveforhunger.org, provides movers who offer to pick up the unwanted, non-perishable food items from those who are moving and deliver it to their local food banks. Focusing Families and Veteran’s Empowerment were also recipients of financial and material contributions to improve living conditions for those in need.
In addition, the importance of community service to our corporate mission is the foundation of Gables’ signature associate event, Gables Day. Gables associates nationwide are given the day off, not to play, but to participate in community service. Offices nationwide are closed for the day and all associates, from company executives to leasing and maintenance staffs work together on a community service project. Organizations are identified that focus on providing improved housing to those in need. Gables supplies funding and labor for the projects, with the participation and support of our vendors and suppliers across the country.
