Thomasville Announces New Licensed Furniture Collection With Anthony Baratta
High Point, NC (PRWEB) February 24, 2016 -- Thomasville Furniture is proud to introduce a new collection by interior designer Anthony Baratta at the April 2016 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina. The collection has been inspired by iconic furniture pieces created by Anthony for his clients.
As one of the most respected interior designers in the industry, “Anthony Baratta’s design aesthetic brings a fresh perspective to Thomasville. The new collection combines modern styling and timeless silhouettes which provides our dealers a unique and inspired product offering,” says Pierre de Villemejane, President and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Home Group, parent company of Thomasville.
Anthony is a celebrated and respected interior designer with a global following. Baratta began his design career over thirty years ago after graduating from Fordham University with a degree in art history. Combining his talents with William Diamond, their firm, Diamond Baratta Design, was known for its colorful and luxurious interiors. The duo became media sensations capturing over 40 magazine covers and countless editorial placements in luxury shelter and lifestyle publications. Baratta’ s work has been featured worldwide in such magazines as Architectural Digest, World of Interiors, House Beautiful, House & Garden, Cottages & Gardens and Elle Décor, and Veranda. His own homes have appeared in the New York Times Magazine on three separate occasions; and in recent years world class international magazines have honored Anthony with numerous awards and accolades for his good works. Baratta’s signature East Coast-Chic style along with his charming demeanor and gracious humility have solidified his place in design history.
The Anthony Baratta collection includes some 50 pieces of bedroom, dining, occasional and upholstery, best described as a mix of relaxed resort and modern cottage, with a smattering of nautical elements. As would be expected of Thomasville, upholstery designs are shapely and detailed. Sofas range from relaxed, casual camelbacks to curved-front crescents and loose-cushion shelter frames, while chairs feature rounded backs and exaggerated wings that engage the eye from every angle. Exquisite tailoring details include, decorative tapes, button-tufting and nail head trims.
Baratta‘s distinctive wood products provide a bold counterpoint to the shapely upholstery designs. Bold, beveled face profiles executed in solid oak and quartered oak veneers are finished in a warm taupe. White is a signature accent throughout the collection. Cerusing, a wire brushed technique to open the grain, is a signature highlight on all case pieces with accents of white paint and white leather wrapped doors, drawers, and tops playing an important role in many of the pieces.
“The opportunity to work with such a distinguished and well-known brand came at the perfect time in my career,” Baratta says of the collection that will be a focal point in the Thomasville showroom at the April 2016 High Point Market. “My mission has always been to design pieces for each client that fits their personal style. This collection will make my signature looks available to consumers that I may not have the opportunity to work with as individuals.”
"This is an exciting time in the history of the Thomasville brand. Tony's colorful and livable designs are certain to resonate with millennial consumers as well as brand loyalists alike," de Villemejane says.
