Gracious Care Recovery Solutions to Offer Child Care Services
Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) February 26, 2016 -- Starting in March, Gracious Care Recovery Solutions will launch a partnership for onsite babysitting services to parents receiving addiction treatment, putting them among only seven percent of rehabilitation facilities that have a means to provide child care.
When those suffering from addiction are controlled by a substance, they become unable to prioritize taking care of their children over consuming drugs or alcohol, which can often lead to child neglect or abuse. It is common for children in these situations to suffer from poor cognitive, social and emotional development and depression, anxiety or other trauma-related symptoms.
Though roughly 1.4 million single parents in the United States are in need of addiction treatment, only a small percentage of them will ever receive help, often due to a lack of available child care services.
Gracious Care Recovery Solutions is partnering with Grace Family Worship Program to provide the children of their clients a safe and educational place to stay during clinical hours. This will allow parents to enter into treatment free of guilt, without the risk of further damaging their relationship with their children.
“It can be extremely difficult to enter into treatment as a parent of dependent children,” said Marisa Way, CEO of Gracious Care Recovery Solutions. “So many people continue to suffer from their addiction in silence due to the stigma that surrounds parents having to leave their children behind to seek help. Our hopes are to remove that stigma, provide both parents and children with a safe haven and help stop the vicious cycle of addiction.”
